Snow Lake or Lukpe Lawo

The best trek on the northern side of Pakistan, Snow lake or Lukpe Lawo has receives a small number of wanderers for trekking in this part of Pakistan. With the average of 200 travelers per year, the name of Snow Lake locally known as Lukpe Lawo was given by Martin Convey in 1892 after becoming the first to explore this piece of heaven for trekkers.

To reach the astonishing destination, One needs to go towards Skardu valley and take the thrilling jeep ride passing over Braldu River reaching the last car point, Askole. From Askole the mesmerizing trek starts towards the Sky high glacial basin of Lukpe Lawo or Snow Lake. Snow Lake lies at the mountainous heights of 4,877 m.

However, the Snow Lake situated at the heads of two of mighty glaciers, Hispar and Biafo. Travelers usually start the trek from Askole and reach Snow Lake after that continues their journey towards Hispar in Nagar Valley. The trek is also known in the travelers as Biafo Hispar la trek. The trek offers some amazing views of the landscape around the travelers. Further, it requires two days to reach the beautiful Rush Lake. The trek for this lake starts from the Hopar Valley. One can easily reach the Hopar valley of Nagar in Gilgit Baltistan Pakistan by car.

Locally known as Qurumbar Lake, lies up in the mountains of Ishkomen valley of Ghizer in the far northern side of Pakistan. Normally travelers can reach this amazing destination by trekking through Broghil Valley of Chitral. Rakaposhi Base Camp
