The total duration of the trek starting from Askole to Snow Lake and the Hispar la. The total day which include reaching Skardu and jeep rides can take 21 or more days. The route and trek is extremely difficult and technical. The trek requires to be on the ice glaciers for days and atleast 3 camps on the glacier. the total distance is about 130.9km. The best season is to go during summers. The trek begins in Baltistan region and end in Gilgit region.
The trek start from Askole via the K2 Basecamp route and then separtes to go over the Biafo glacier. You have get to experience amazing view and the remotest areas in the world. The Trek offer view of many 6000 to 7000m mountains which surround the glaciers including The Ogre (7,813m).
The Biafo glacier (65km) and Hispar glaciers (49km), are one of the world’s longest glaciers out side the polar region,together they form the longest system of glaciers.
The trek is very difficult and one can easy get lost. Trekkers who attempt the Hispar La trek on their own will face risks of getting lost or meeting an accident. Since the trek is very remote no rescuse mission is available. The best option is to hire an experienced guide and porters or with a travel agency.
